ABOUT ME
Hello there 😊 My name is Karen Moseley, I am a mother, a Registered Midwife/Nurse and a passionate Hypnobirthing Australia™ Certified Practitioner.
I discovered hypnobirthing as a student midwife and knew then that I wanted to be part of this inspiring way of birth. I am continuously in awe of the strength and power that is paralleled by a deep sense of calmness and preparedness in hypnobirthing women and their support people.
After the birth of my own Hypnobub in 2015, I enrolled in Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner Training so that I could share this amazing gift of joyful birth with my family, friends and community.
What does ‘Sapphire Waves Hypnobirthing’ mean?
Sapphire: The Sapphire itself is said to be a symbol for power, strength and wisdom. It is believed to bring protection, good fortune, spiritual insight and has the power to alter negative thoughts and energy. I believe this is reflective of the Hypnobirthing Australia™ Course and parallels the hypnobirthing woman. It also happens to be the beautiful place I now call home 😊
Waves: In the Hypnobirthing Australia™ Course we discuss the symbolic nature of waves as free flowing sources of strength and energy that have the ability to adapt and transform. The course prepares women to confidently ride whichever wave their birthing journey takes. I also have a deep connection with the beach, particularly those of the Coffs Coast.
Hypnobirthing: It sounds a bit hocus pocus doesn’t it? In reality, its far from it. The course utilises hypnotherapy techniques (all hypnosis is self-hypnosis) to help you achieve a deep sense of relaxation that can support a more calm and relaxed birth experience.
In a nutshell, Sapphire Waves Hypnobirthing provides evidence based comprehensive childbirth education classes, developed by Melissa Spilsted, a tertiary qualified, experienced registered Educator and Australian registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, held in Coffs Harbour by an experienced midwife.
“Many women have described their experiences of childbirth as being associated with a spiritual uplifting, the power of which they have never previously been aware.
To such a woman, childbirth is a monument of joy within her memory. She turns to it in thought to seek again an ecstasy which passed too soon.”
